Unlocking potential through off-grid solar solutions

The problem we are addressing is access to clean and consistent electricity.

600 million people still live without access to electricity in Africa. Without electricity, most of these people are left to light their homes with kerosene, an unsafe and expensive pollutant, or to walk miles just to charge their mobile phones, find a place to study, or finish their day’s work. In Cameroon, access to electricity is still a major challenge.

Sunsave Solutions has developed an environmentally friendly and future-oriented way of generating electricity using cleaner and affordable technology of standalone solar home systems that are portable and can be installed in individual homes or businesses. This is helping people live productive and safer lives, while displacing unclean sources of lighting such as kerosene lamps, candles, and diesel generators from rural households and reducing global emissions.

Our Top Priorities

Fight Gender Inequality

We prioritise, focusing on female-led households, female businesses and working through local female cooperative groups. We are convinced that a neutral-carbon world should also be a gender equal world.

Boosting productivity

Having our solar products allows for homes, schools, and businesses to gain upwards of 2 hours of additional light every day which will help to boost productivity.

reducing carbon emissions

Replacing traditional sources of light such as kerosene lamps and candles helps to displace carbon emissions which ultimately harm the environment.

Improving Living Conditions

Traditional sources of lighting emit black carbon which over a prolonger period of time is linked to health conditions like asthma or lung cancer. With our products, we are drastically reducing this risk.

How solar energy works

the sun

Our products collect energy from the sun on a daily basis

Battery

The currents from the panel flows into the battery (with an inbuilt inverter) and converts it to electricity. These batteries will store the electricity until it’s needed.

Solar Panels

The panels will collect energy from the sun and are absorbed by the PV cells in the panel

Light

The electricity from the battery can be used to light rooms, charge mobile phones, run your fridge, and basically anything else you’re needing!

Light for Education Celebration

Join us to celebrate the end of our first #LightForEducationCampaign, and hear our guest speakers talk about the importance of accessing electricity in schools.

‘I never imagined one day I would be able to own a solar home system. This is something only for the very rich – I still can’t believe it! Now my house will have a light, it feels like paradise!
