Chief Executive Officer

Mekila Ngwambe was born and raised in a house without electricity in Sabongari, a village in the northwest region of Cameroon, which gives him a firsthand experience of the challenge we are addressing. He was recipient of two elite scholarships, the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship to study Africa and International Development at the University of Edinburgh, and the Schwarzman Scholars Program for a Master of Management Science in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University, China.

Favour Onyenma

Chief Product Officer

Born in Nigeria, Favour completed a First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Covenant University in Nigeria, and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of Edinburgh. Previously, Favour worked as a Research and Strategy Analyst for Distributed Energy at SSE Energy Solutions. Favour has a strong interest in renewable energy technologies and distributed solar solutions with three solid years of work experience with energy companies in Nigeria.

Brittany Newfer

Brittany Newfer

Chief Operations Officer

Brittany graduated from Michigan State University with her Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies and later graduated from the University of Edinburgh with her MSc in Africa and International Development. She has experience working with refugee populations in both Malawi and the U.S., evaluating educational infrastructure projects for charities in Malawi and assessing agricultural projects in Tanzania. Brittany joined Sunsave Solutions because she is passionate about community-led change and making clean energy more accessible to everyone. 

Fred Nji

Fred Nji

Country Director

 Born and raised in Cameroon, Fred completed a degree in Business Philosophy from the Catholic University of Cameroon. Fred’s experience is increasing access to electricity in rural areas through decentralised and distributed solar solutions. Before Sunsave Solutions, Fred worked for a year with the Mill Hill Fathers, an English Missionary Society, in Karamoja, Kotido District Uganda, to distribute solar lanterns to the karimojong people.
